Sheik
Sheik was a character that always fascinated me, and upon seeing the Art Nouveau version designed by Drifting by Stars, I wanted to try my hand at cosplaying this legendary princess in disguise. It was such a blast wearing these costumes with the rest of my Art Nouveau group; bringing Drifting by Stars’ designs to life was an absolute honor!
For Sheik, I used a Luthien from Arda Wigs in the color Light Blonde. I added an orange gradient to the lower half using RIT Dye. The golden ornament was sculpted from Thibra and adorned with fake flowers.
The top was self-drafted and made from black suede, navy vinyl, and white vinyl. The main symbol was made from suede appliqué and the edges were finished with hand embroidery. The shorts and single fingerless glove were made from black stretch suede, while the blue sleeves were made from an embossed velvet. The hood and waist wrap were made from silk charmeuse. The skirts and shawl were made from silk chiffon. I used acid dye to add the sunset-esque gradient to the shawl and skirt.
The hip armor was made from Black Worbla with Thibra details, all of which was hand-painted.
