Prompto Argentum
When Final Fantasy XIII Versus was first announced, Noctis immediately made it onto my cosplay list. However, after Final Fantasy XV was released (many… many years later) and I was introduced to Prompto, this precious Chocobo boy dethroned the prince when it came to who I wanted to cosplay! Prompto’s energy was infectious, plus capturing his “edgy” style was definitely a challenge for me.
My Prompto wig started as a Magnum in Ashe Blonde from Arda Wigs. A video tutorial is available here.
I created a vector for the bandanna by importing a stock photo of the official ROEN bandanna into Adobe Illustrator and using the pen tool to trace the details. I have this design available to order on Spoonflower.
The base vest, tank top, and pants for this costume were purchased and modified. I used cotton plaids for the vest panels, overlaying them with black silk gauze. Both the skull on the vest and the leopard print on the pants were added using freezer paper stencils and an airbrush machine. I painted the linear matrix pattern on Prompto’s shirt using silver fabric paint.
I made both of my Prompto cuffs from clothing PVC upholstery vinyl. The skull buckle for his belt was made from Thibra. The straps for the boots were also made using clothing PVC, while the cuffs were made from double-layered cotton sateen.
I commissioned my patches from Serephitic Embroidery. We created the base vectors from this resource provided by Hitorishin.
