Moa
As a general rule, “moe” characters are not my usual aesthetic. Upon seeing Moa for the first time, though, I decided I had to make an exception. (It was love at first “pyuru~!” one could say.) Her color scheme was lovely, and I just had an itch to tackle her giant hairdo! Not to mention I simply adored her optimistic, bubbly personality. It’s good to try new things!
The bow was was made from red cotton and snapped on to the collar of the dress. I made the dress from stretch suede (both the pink and grey); the sleeves were made from a deep purple stretch satin. The dress was extensively padded to create the exaggerated silhouette of the bust and hips. The ears and tail were made from a soft velboa faux fur, while the horns were made from Thibra. (A work log of that process is available here.)
The base wig was a Jaguar from Arda Wigs in the color Bubblegum Pink. I harvested the wefts from a Luthien and two curly clips and combined them with the Jaguar in order to add tons of extra fiber and volume. The battery back for the LED strand was hidden at the nape of the neck. For Moa’s star accents, I cast them from Tomei Clay.
